Can anyone find a demon?

Hello friends,

long time no see. this was an interesting question posed on our forum website at Seacoast Vineyard.
How many of us have seen a demon or evidences of demons? How many would even know what to do with one?

if you would be interested here is a link to the discussion (which you can join if you want for free)

sorry it's been so long...

Does He really mean it?

This may be a little random (there you have been disclaimed):
Did Jesus really mean it when He said follow me? Lose your life so you can gain it?
Give up all you have so you can gain all He has to give? is He really strong, loving, caring, intimate, passionate, emotional, intelligent, truth, light, on and on...

Did He really mean it when He says lawlessness is sin? when He says that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us? The Word makes lots of claims so Jesus in turn makes several claims: Lord of Lords, Lord of the Sabbath, Lord of All, Lord of the Earth, Lord of Hosts, Lord of our lives... Do we live this way? does it govern the way we think about our life?

Jesus asked His disciples "who do OTHERS say that I am?" and they gave Him some answers, they had been paying attention to what the others said, but then He posed the next question, "who do YOU say that I am?"  This is the core of what is consuming me lately.

He says He will give grace to pray, to fast, to understand, to stand in faith. that He is right with us. that He knows ALL things.

He says lay hands on the sick, raise the dead, give offerings above your tithe, etc...

we say we are believers but like James urged us do we read only and are so deceived? or do we also obey and follow His Words?

No condemnation here of course, I am simply saying that I wonder if we have time for our own lives let alone time to let Him rule in it? is this the right way? do we do our life and FIT Him into it? or do we seek Him first and then do what He says?

I'm challenging myself to seek to know His will, I'm setting my face like a flint I will steady myself on the Lord and who He is. I desire to stand in HIS counsel, in His presence to KNOW Him intimately. For Him to reveal who He is to me and who I am to Him...
again this is random but it is my story and my heart.

where are you?

A commentary on a deep cry in my heart

i think that the church has fallen asleep, ya know when you have eaten too much, partied too much, sat in a pew too much- you fall asleep, the church has received freely so much and we just ate it all instead of replanting some of those seeds, instead of scattering them for other to also freely receive.

I agree with Corey Russell who said " I believe we are making people worthless when there is not the creating of a sense of urgency". We are fat and happy christians who are comfortable with God's "good blessings" when we should be hungering and thirting for our Lover to show Himself strong in all the Earth. We should be fasting and weeping and praying that God we give us a revelation from heaven and then that He would give us a voice like Paul, Moses, Elijah, Anna, Priscilla, Peter at so on. One of Jesus' last requests to the Father was that we would know Him like He knows Him and that we would be ONE. how can we accomplish this 1-3 hours a week in some lethargic church programs?

We need to do as Paul instructs "Col 4:2  Be continuing earnestly in prayer; be staying alert in it with thanksgiving,
Col 4:3  praying at the same time also concerning us, that God opens to us a door for the word, to speak the secret of Christ (on account of which I have also been bound)"

are we awake? are You awake? do you know someone asleep? Maybe you are an arm, or a finger shake or poke your body. provoke them to love again.

Open and Shut Case

It sounds so simple and it is. I often hear people say when God shuts one door He opens another. This I Believe is true, however, what if He isn't shutting a door?

I recently was fired from a job, a job i liked and thought i was pretty good at, the next day my car broke down, and it was looking like the beginning of a country song.

I found myself still at peace. At peace knowing my God, knowing accidents happen, knowing Him. ( Dan 11:32)

I also found myself worshipping God like crazy. I know that the best way to cure depression is worship. I know the best cure for despair is worship. The best thing you can do when you don't know what else to do is worship!

Abraham got up early and worshiped God before he offered up Isaac (Gen 22) Joseph praised God for his brothers betray (Gen 32-35) David worshiped God when his father figure persecuted him.

I just trust God. He will take care of me better than i can.

Can you hear me now?

I don't know, but this phrase just jumped out at me, "Echo in Heaven, Resound on the Earth"
A pastor I used to know used to say, "Pray from your position in heaven".
It reminds me who we are; Head and not the tail, above and not beneath,  Heirs to God, Co Heirs with Christ, No longer a slave but a son, seated w/ Christ in the Heavenlies, a King and a Priest in His Kingdom, Invited into His courts, accepted in the Beloved, i could go on and on.

When we pray it is more than an earthly exercise, it is greater than mere speech, and vastly more powerful than our comprehension. this has to be true because how often are we in prayer? is it as constant as always like the bible says to do? Now, no condemnation if you aren't, but let truth in your spirit and convict where conviction is needed.

Let us press on towards the Goal in Christ, let us rend the heavens and ask of God amazing things.

What will you pray about?

ALiens

This was worth reblogging from Pastor Hoban's Blog:

Do Aliens exists?

"There are extra-terrestrial beings, they are called angels.  So, in a sense there are aliens, but they have no fleshy form.

The whole concept of alien life on other planets comes from the idea that all life on Earth evolved over a period of time.  This concept dismisses the Creation story in Genesis or God's hand in the matter.  The idea goes further, that if life here evolved from simple organisms, life most probably evolved on other planets. This is a matter of probability; because there are countless galaxies, there will be countless solar systems with planets with the probability that on at least one of those planets life has evolved.

From a standpoint of creation, God would have made these creatures on other planets at the same time as he made the earth and the stars. God could have easily done this, but did he?  For intelligent life like ours to exist on other planets, that have a corporeal form like ours, having flesh like ours, these creatures would have to have a God conscience.  If they had a God conscience then they would have had the ability to sin (to turn away from God).  If that is the case, the universe could have been brought under the curse of sin by these creatures, thus even affecting us.  It would also stand that because of our sin we would have affected them.  From a theological position, it doesn't match up.  Now, because these creatures would not have been sons of Adam, the salvation that is afforded to us in Christ could not be afforded to them.  Christ came as a man to redeem mankind.  Because they would not be of the race of men, Christ's death, burial and resurrection would not suffice for their redemption.  Now, this poses a problem.

We know that God so loved the world that he sent Jesus to die for the world.  For the Son of God to redeem these creatures, He would have to die for them also.  Jesus cannot be crucified twice because He lives forever.  It would then stand that God is not love, to leave these creatures forever lost.

The Bible tells us that there will be a rapture of the saints into heaven.  The so-called alien appearances are often accompanied by abductions.  I believe that one way to explain away the rapture of the church will be that aliens took people.

No, I don’t believe that people are seeing aliens from other planets.  Most are probably hoaxes and if they are really experiencing anything, it is most likely of the demonic kind.

We are to look up, alright…but not for some alien space ship, but for the coming of the Lord with power."

I fully agree with this and could NOT have better said it.

God speaking to me

God has been speaking to me a lot and has been teaching me that He does have big plans to put me back in ministry but that I simply need to wait and rest in where He has me now. I recently  went to a Pre Call Rally at the Fathers House in Myrtle Beach  (a great church with Pastor Marc and Howie). While at the gathering I went into a prophetic prayer room where these people did Not know me at all  and I chose not to say anything about what I wanted prayer for and these are the Words they delivered to me:

One said these words: Patience

=         =               He makes all things new

Another spoke saying: Balanced in both the Law and personality

=         =                Song Dance Shout- Worship Warrior

        =         =                Genuine

=                           Boldness for the authority God’s Given me

=         =                Wisdom like solomon to judge between conflicts

Another said: Step out in authority over those who try to manipulate  me

The last person said: God Given ideas for media information that will be effective to reach others

        =         =              Artistic

=         =             Heart of compassion- leading family and friends to Christ through my lifestyle/actions

        =         =             I am in a preparation season

=         =             Provision will be there for everthing He is preparing me for.

A Word on Fasting

What is  fasting? Biblically, fasting is abstaining from food,
drink, sleep media or sex  to focus on a period of spiritual growth and intimacy with God.
Specifically, we humbly deny something of the flesh (our natural desires) to glorify God,
enhance our spirit, and go deeper in our relationship with Him.

TheCall is coming up and I reminded myself of the discipline of fasting. I have gone through seasons of fasting and have not fasted for a while but I believe I shall be entering now into a time of fasting again. Wanna join me? Got Questions about fasting? leave a comment. ...<< MORE >>

Key Ingredient: Truth

Lexi’s Blog was just 1 of 4 confirmations of what God has been speaking to my heart. That If we will just let God be God we can get out of the way so people can see Jesus. the bible talks about this when it says ‘lift up the Son of Man and they will believe’ just as Moses was told to lift up the “cross” with the bronze serpent and all would be healed so all those who truly look (and see) Jesus will get eternal life with Him.

Pastor Tim Holt
put it like this; Our theological debates about how many angels can stand on the head of a pin and are we post mid or pre trib or is there a 2nd work of grace- the baptism in the holy spirit? these debates muck up the water of the word that washes away the worlds programming. it makes Jesus less clear and the concerns of the world magnified. our “job” of evangelism harder.

But like John wrote the Truth will set you free, Jesus is the Truth, we need to lift Him up. Above the confusion of the world, the bad theology of the church, and let people see Jesus lifted high, then THEN they will fall in love with HIm!

we need to lift Him high in our lives and get out of the way with our personal agendas.

I really like what Lexi said ““That’s not it, Eric. I’m not trying to decide whether or not I agree with it, it’s whether or not it’s true.”

If it was true, then I was wrong and I could fix that. It would be painful, but not as painful as what I’d seen. If that Man really did take my place then I owed Him something.

Key Ingredient: Passion

Yesterday I got the opportunity to preach again at NMB Xian School. I preached “The Plot Thickens” a message about how the enemy tries to kills and what ways he does it through the life of Nehemiah. ( it went well ). the night before i was not able to sleep much. Thoughts upon thoughts flooded my mind. what will i say? how will i say it? is this the right message? and so on.

I was reminded (in a daydream like state) of a seminar on food safety i went to about a month ago. I know… food safety and the bible? the man who gave the presentation (peter goode) was amazing. the fact that i remember his name is a testimony. what i started to ponder was why? why did i remember anything he said? how did i remember anything he taught?

the answer came back as passion. it didn’t matter how dry and boring his topic was because he was genuinely passionate about his topic. so in a sense we all fed off his energy.

So i preached with passion and conviction and i believe i was able to cause an effective shift in their paradigms about god, devil and the flesh. all of this obviously is by the grace of God through the power of the Holy Spirit.
